School of Pastoral Care |
Toronto, Canada - May 23-27, 2005 |
The dictionary defines ministry as "The act of serving."
Each of us ministers to others in one way or another... home, vocation, family...
Who should attend? Lay person, clergy, medical and psychology professionals, OSL members and anyone interested in Christian healing, who would like to receive hands-on training, experience praying with others, and learn more about where she or he is being called by God.
You are invited to include questions and suggested topics for discussion at this school. Space is also offered on the registration form asking how the School might help further your ministry.
This school will provide us with the time and space in a healing environment to focus on Jesus, and to address the question: "Where is God Calling Me In My Ministry?". To assist in our journey will be a leadership team of five: three presenters, chaplain and worship leader. Although specific topics will be introduced at the school, presenters have been chosen for their experience and leadership abilities in pastoral care, Biblical knowledge, spiritual direction, and inner healing. They will provide in-depth teaching on healing, and intensive "hands-on" training praying for others. Opportunities will be offered throughout the week for private counseling.
Each day will begin with Holy Communion and will end with a question and answer discussion on the day's events, followed by Evening Prayer and the Rule of Silence. Ample free time every day will be available for relaxation and time to explore the grounds and more than 40 nature trails. Delicious meals prepared by a staff who recognize the importance of providing good food for guests, the book store and entire retreat centre facility will be exclusively ours to enjoy for this school.
Nestled among the rolling hills of Caledon, lies Singing Waters, a Christian healing, teaching and retreat centre. Located within an hour's drive of Toronto's international airport, on 50 acres of beautiful woodland with a river flowing through a valley, the retreat environment at Singing Waters is an ideal spot for our time together as we seek a deeper intimacy with God, to learn more about exercising His ministry of healing in the world, and listening for His guidance for our lives.
Come and enjoy 5 days in the Presence of Jesus.
