Learning Resources for Nurturing Your Healing Ministry

Attention OSL Chapter Convenors and Chaplains

The International Order of St Luke the Physician

is pleased to announce the launch of the

OSL Healing Ministry Training Program

A new format has been developed by the OSL Training Ministry team.  The training program - designed to be delivered in your church by experienced leaders - will draw participants closer to Jesus, and will offer the opportunity of hands-on training for OSL Members in a safe environment.  The program builds upon what you have learned and studied, although previous study is not required.  If you have been reading about or studying teaching materials such as Going Deeper, the event will be a time to experience practical applications and to learn new ones.  Training for praying with others is more often "caught" than taught.  Seasoned leaders will instruct and guide participants through a series of small group "hands-on" activities to practice praying with one another in a safe and comfortable place.

Your planning team, in discussion with training leadership, will select from appropriate topics that could include*:

  • Developing a Prayer Team
  • Discernment:  What is Of God and What Is Not
  • Healing of Memories or Inner Healing
  • Forgiveness: Pathway to Peace
  • Issues of Discernment
  • Deepening Our Prayer Life
  • To Heal As Jesus Healed (A Biblical Study)
  • The Prayer of Faith
  • What If We Don't Get Well?
  • The Church As A Healing Community
  • Prayer, Medicine and Sacraments
  • Spiritual Direction
  • *other topics may be added.

When planning an event, local issues and concerns will always be addressed in the training.

PLEASE NOTE:   If you are not a convenor or chaplain of a chapter, please do not use the form below.  If you are looking for information about upcoming Going Deeper Weekends please visit www.orderofstluke.org/calendar.htm

OSL Chapter convenors and chaplains are invited to submit this form to:

  • ask questions regarding the program
  • request assistance for planning an event in your local area including advertising, brochure, posters, and a webpage
  • receive advance notice when other chapters or regions announce a training event
  • receive a newsletter from time to time including a teaching article on healing to encourage your chapter members in their healing ministry.
